A beautiful moment
We must become collectors of beautiful moments, especially now. So here is a moment that I had recently, one that I will never forget.
My daughter, Luciana, is in sixth grade, and she is in the school choir. Luci plays piano and sings. She has talent. She auditioned for two solos for the spring concert, and got them both. She didn’t say much about them, though she texted me when she found out. I knew she was taking them seriously.
Middle school concerts are a wonder. I mean that. These concerts are a celebration of a somewhat random assortment of children, and led by a public servant, a choir teacher.
Most people who attend are rooting for all involved. The camaraderie that exists between parents and grandparents of middle schoolers is special. To some degree, each child is our child for those 45 minutes. We cheer them all, no matter what.
Luci stepped to the mic for her solo. I held my breath.
And my eyes welled, and my tears fell. And for a few minutes, life was magical.

Beautiful!
LUCI!!!!!That was so beautiful!!! Keep singing. You’re amazing! ❤️❤️❤️
