An Experiment in Community
Nov 3, 7pm, Brew Merchant, Holland, MI
My father, Marlin, and I are starting something new: an open and curious community. We’re calling it Still Processing, a community committed to change and wonder and goodness. Still Processing does not prioritize any single ideological framework, be it religious, philosophical, or otherwise. We will have gatherings once a month at Brew Merchant in Holland, on the first Thursday of every month, at 7pm. The gatherings will have a broad theme—“Hoping Against Hope” is our theme for the first gathing on Nov 3. Our desire is to create an experience that engages your mind, emotions, and body. We will use TikToks, podcasts, music videos, clips from shows, meditations, and whatever else we can find, as we process big ideas together. We have no template to follow, except our hearts and minds, and your hearts and minds. Our first gathering is Nov 3, 7pm, at Brew Merchant in Holland, MI. Our website can tell you more about our vision for Still Processing.
Please spread the word! If this gathers any momentum it will be due to word of mouth. Just to be clear, we will not be advocating for any religious tradition at Still Processing, though we will talk about religion and metaphysics and the possibility of God. Still Processing is not a place of certainty and dogma. It’s a place where we try to wed questions and curiosity with courage and action. We want everyone to feel safe to be themselves, with all of their doubt, uncertainty, frustration, hope, joy, and love. We will work hard to model hospitality, while also putting forth our ideas with courage and conviction. We welcome you to the process.

Oh, how I wish I lived nearby. Marlin’s thoughts have the power to stay with one…and they have since our trip to Israel together. I’m in awe of the way he thinks. You have a very dear man for a father. I hope your program rests well in the “hearts and minds” of your participants.
Best Regards,
