"Emotions and Emotional Regulation, Part 2," with Bethany DeBlaay, this Thursday!
March 7, 7pm, Brew Merchant
We will continue our exploration of emotions and emotional regulation this coming Thursday, with Bethany DeBlaay. Bethany and I will review the theory of emotions that we discussed last month. It is helpfully summarized and illustrated in the following video, featuring the pioneer of this new theory, Lisa Feldman Barrett.
We will use the majority of our time on March 7 to talk about emotional regulation. Bethany’s desire is to make concrete the theory of emotions summarized in the video above. She will give us tools, exercises, and examples. Emotions contain valuable information about ourselves, the world, and about our relationship to others. Emotions are inescapable, and they can be a wonderful avenue of connection to others.
I invite you to watch last month’s gathering. And if you have any questions after watching it, do not hesitate to send them to me: joshuamvis@gmail.com
I hope to see you this Thursday, March 7, 7pm, at the Brew Merchant!
