What's next for me and for Still Processing
Next gathering: “Indigenous Wisdom in a Time of Collapse,” with Dr. Anita Sanchez, Thursday, Oct 2, 7pm interview (6pm book signing and happy hour), Port 393, Holland
As I wrote early last week, I will be leaving my work on Israel/Palestine with Reformed Church in America at the end of 2025. So what’s next for me?
A big part of the answer is Still Processing. Beginning in 2026, my main source of income will be Still Processing. Our fundraising goal for 2026 is $150,000, of which we have $75,000 pledged. We are half way to our goal!
Raising the other half of this money will be a challenge. We will need your help. We will need donations from people like you to make this possible.
Right now, we are looking for 10 individuals who can give $1,500, 10 who can give $1,000, and 10 who can give $500. I will be reaching out to some of you individually. Perhaps some of you will reach out to me.
I am grateful for all of you. Please give what you can.
In 2026, We will be doing at least 20 gatherings, which I will design and lead. We have wonderful guests and topics lined up for 2026. We’ll discuss psychedelics, climate collapse, gender, life after religion, and so much more.
Since November 2022, Still Processing has been holding a single gathering each month. Next week Thursday, Oct 2, we will hold our 36th gathering. Our guest is Dr. Anita Sanchez, author of The Four Sacred Gifts: Indigenous Wisdom for Modern Times. We have so much to learn from indigenous teachers like Dr. Sanchez.
In 2026, we will continue to have guests like Dr. Sanchez. The first gathering of each month, typically the first Thursday of the month, will focus on the work of our guest. As always, I will connect the work of the guest to current affairs as appropriate. This gives us a chance to learn something new every month.
In the months where we have two gatherings, the second gathering will focus on culture, politics, current events, current trends, etc. A variety of thoughtful and insightful people will join me for these gatherings. I expect these gatherings to be lively, fun, funny, touching, and helpful.
Lastly, I will be offering more of my thinking and analysis here on Substack and on TikTok. More on this to come.
Here’s how you can give.
